US widens list of Russian companies under sanctions
WASHINGTON, Sep 7 (PRIME) – The U.S. Department of Commerce has put more than 80 Russian firms on the sanctions list over events in the Crimea and Ukraine adding such electronics companies to it as Angstrem and Micron, it said late on Tuesday.
The decision was taken to develop sectorial sanctions against Russia, and the bureau said in a statement that it is undertaking the measures to ensure the efficiency of existing sanctions for violation of international law and fostering the conflict in Ukraine.
The list comprises 81 companies from Russia, Hong Kong, Crimea and India. The document said that the list was augmented by 11 firms, including Angstrem-M, Angstrem, Angstrem-T, Radioexport, the Perm Scientific and Production Instrument-Making Company, Micron, Micran, Granat, Technopole Company, Technopole Ltd and Jiovan.
The last companies were put on the list because of their connections with the Russian military production.
